Forgotten World Adventures (FWA) offers exclusive guided experiences in one of the most beautiful and remote locations in New Zealand. Travel along an abandoned railway line by rail cart & enjoy a front row seat into our country's pioneering history.
All FWA experiences feature an iconic self-driven rail cart journey on the 142km long historic Stratford-Okahukura Line. The Expedition is a spectacular two-day guided adventure featuring helicopter and jet boat rides. Ride the rails through 20 hand-built tunnels to the Republic of WhangamÅmona, helicopter over the Whanganui National Park, enjoy a guided bush walk to the Bridge to Nowhere and journey back up the culturally significant Whanganui River on the longest commercial jet boat ride in the Southern Hemisphere. Includes: Dinner, bed and breakfast at the historic WhangamÅmona Hotel, rail-side food and drinks, helicopter flight, jet boat ride and transfers. Optional Extras: Forgotten World Motel. Departs: 7.30am from Taumarunui.
