Tongariro Volcanic Adventures offers a daily bus to the famous Tongariro Alpine Crossing, summer and winter, departing National Park to Mangatepopo road end 5:45, 7:15, 8:30, and 9:45 am. Returning from Ketetahi road end (end of the track) from 1:30 until 5:30 pm, cost $ 45pp/return. Book the night before. Group rates available.
Winter: Ski bus to Whakapapa ski field, dep 8.00 am and 9.30 am, return 4.15 pm, cost $ 35 pp to $ 45 pp for the return trip. Other times on request. Group rates available. 4WD van, buses carry snow chains if restrictions on the mountain road.
Mountain bike transport to 42nd Traverse, Fishers Track, departures on request.
