All FWA experiences incorporate an iconic self-driven rail cart journey on the 142km long historic Stratford-Okahukura Line. The Ultimate is a remarkable two-day guided rail cart adventure from Taumarunui to Stratford (or the reverse), with full immersion in the spectacular scenery and stories of our pioneers. Travel along the entire railway line; through all 24 hand-built tunnels, across its 90 plus hand-made bridges. See remnants of once-thriving towns. Overnight in the Republic of Whangamōmona staying at one of New Zealand's most iconic hotels. Includes: Dinner, bed & breakfast at Whangamōmona Hotel, rail-side food & drinks & transfers. Optional extras: Forgotten World Motel, vehicle shift. Departs: 7.30am-Taumarunui or 10am-Stratford.
