Forgotten World Adventures offers exclusive guided experiences through one of the most beautiful and remote locations in New Zealand. Travel along an abandoned railway line by rail cart & enjoy a front row seat into our country's pioneering history.
All FWA experiences incorporate an iconic self-driven rail cart journey on the 142km long historic Stratford-Okahukura Line (SOL). The Tokirima Taster is a memorable half-day guided 40km rail cart adventure to or from the old rural community of Tokirima. Venture through 10 hand-built tunnels including the longest at 1.5km, immerse yourself in the culture and history of the region and marvel at the engineering and determination of our pioneers. A stroll & refreshments at Lauren's Lavender Farm completes the itinerary. An intriguing introduction to the Forgotten World. Includes: Rail-side food and drinks, Lavender Farm visit and transfers. Optional extras: Accommodation at Forgotten World Motel. Departs: 7.30am or 11am from Taumarunui.
