King’s Birthday Weekend – Alpine Vintage & Classic Auto Show
The Alpine Vintage & Classic Auto Show returns on May 31, 2026, hosted at the National Park Village School Grounds in Waimarino, located at the corner of Buddo and Carroll Street just off Highway 4.
This year’s show welcomes all registered entries to compete for the People’s Choice “Best of Show” Awards, with 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners announced following Sunday’s judging.
We’re also excited to once again open the Ruapehu Mountain Run to the public. All entrants, attendees, and car clubs are invited to join the drive immediately after the awards presentation.
Spectators: $2 gold coin donation
Enjoy Sky Waka raffles, coffee & cake, BBQ food, and local stalls throughout the day.
A huge thank‑you to the nearly 100 entrants and volunteers who made last year’s event such a success. This year is shaping up to be even bigger and better.
Schedule of Events
9:00 AM – Gates open for all vehicle entries & participants
9:30 AM – 1:00 PM – Tea & coffee, cakes & slices, BBQ
11:00 AM – 12:30 PM – Judging throughout the grounds
12:30 PM – 1:00 PM – People’s Choice “Best of Show” awards
1:00 PM – 2:00 PM – Gathering for the Ruapehu Mountain Run
