Talk Conservation with DOC

The Tongariro National Park Visitor Centre is located at Whakapapa Village, at the base of Mt Ruapehu. Come in and learn all about the park's culture, history and geology. While you're there grab a souvenir and talk to our local team for the best advice.

Opening hours

  • October - April: 8:00 am – 5:00 pm daily (closed Christmas Day)
  • May - September: 8:00 am – 4:30 pm daily
