The Trustees all provide their time voluntarily to act on your behalf. They are guided by the sole purpose of growing tourism numbers into the Ruapehu region, for the region’s future prosperity and economic growth.

All are highly skilled individuals who bring to the role the benefit of their skills and experience in tourism, business and academic arenas.

   
 

Nikki Riley - Chairperson
Nikki has been the Director of Pinnacle Accountancy in Ohakune since 2001. She is a First Term Ruapehu District Councillor, Past President of Ohakune 2000 Inc and studied Commerce majoring in Accountancy at Auckland University.

Murray Wilson – Treasurer
Murray has been a tourism operator at Mount Hutt, Christchurch and Ruapehu for 36 years and has served in various capacities in the community and recently on the Ruapehu District Council.

Currently he is chair of the National Park Village Business Association and a proponent of the two major cycle trail developments.

Mike Wiggins – Founding Chair
Mike is the Managing Director of IBS Consulting Ltd and works with a range of companies to grow their businesses. 
He has owned 9 businesses, achieved Master Franchise and Business Development awards from the NZ Franchise Assn. Mike is in partnership with his son in TCB Ski, Board and Bike in Ohakune.

Mike and Wife Vicki live in Taupo and visit Ohakune most weekends.

Kathy Guy - Trustee
Kathy has been involved in the Tourism & Hospitality Industry since the mid 70’s and is Group General Manager of both Chateau Tongairiro and Wairakei Resort. Kathy is a Director of Mountain Air and the Central Regional Chair of the NZ Hotel Council and has held two terms on the Board of Tourism New Zealand.

Dan Steele – Trustee
Entrepreneur Dan Steele, owner of Blue Duck Station, is a passionate conservationist, hunter, farmer and tourism operator. He runs a major conservation project, lodges, a café and adventure activities all within a 5200 acre working sheep and beef farm.
Dan has a Bachelor of Agriculture and believes New Zealand could be a financially independent, environmental global leader through tourism working in partnership with farming and conservation.

Ken Hill - Trustee
Ken has worked in marketing, tourism and business for over 20 years. His companies have developed tourism businesses and networks initiatives across the Central North Island and undertook the assessing / mentoring of Maori Tourism Businesses for RWC 2011 and the Taumarunui festival.

Ken has been a Regional Tourism Organisation Manager; National Group Communications Manager and business general manager. He has worked and travelled over 35 countries and knows the wants and needs of tourist operators.
