Not only is a guided horse trek a special and unique experience, the horse owners will also share their deep love and respect for the animal along with one or two of the better kept secrets that the Ruapehu bush has to offer.

BACK COUNTRY TRAIL RIDES
  • Description:  The Back Country Trail rides are suitable for all levels of experience from complete beginners to advanced riders.  The scenery varies from native bush canopy to pine tree forests, ridge top tracks and mountain views.  
  • Time: Treks last 3 to 4 hours

RIVER TRAIL RIDE
  • Description : A guided ride for all levels of experience, giving safety hints for an added boost of confidence. A scenic ride to a mountain stream. Mainly for riders over 12 years of age.
  • Time : One hour
  • Prices : Child $40.00 / Adult $50.00
READY SET RIDE
  • Description : A great ride for those new to riding and those who want to know more. We introduce you to the horse and skills of riding followed by a short ride close to the homestead.
    Suitable for riders of any age.
  • Time : One hour
  • Prices : Child $40.00 / Adult $50.00

HOMESTEAD SADDLE CLUB
  • Description : 
    • Suitable for school, educational and social skills groups especially designed fun adventure activities.
    • This is not just about riding. Riders get a chance to work as a part on a team to achieve personal goals. They experience caring confidence building and learning through the context of horses.
    • Programmes can be personalized to meet your groups needs.
  • Time : ½ day, full day or several days
  • Booking : Contact us so we can in planning your learning programme.
 ADOPT A PONY
  • Description : A chance to ‘adopt a pony’ for a morning or afternoon. Take care of your own pony by feeding, grooming and learning the skills of saddling followed by a daily ride.
  • Time : half day (2½ hours), full day (5 hours) – bring suitable outdoor riding clothes and packed lunch. 
  • Prices :  Half a day : $75.00 / Full day : $150.00
