Turoa Ski Field
For the beginners
Alpine Meadow is situated at the base of Turoa Ski Area and is an ideal beginner’s area. It has a large 120m long carpet lift that smoothly and easily takes you up the slope. Alpine Meadow is conveniently located next to the Alpine Café and Bar where you will find coffee, meals, snacks or even a well-deserved cold beverage after your day on the slopes. For the littlies in the family, there’s a tobogganing area right alongside Alpine Meadow.
For the intermediate
Turoa offers 12 groomed intermediate runs with many link to one another so you can enjoy excellent intermediate skiing and riding from top to base. It is home to Australasia's longest vertical descent and New Zealand's highest chairliftt. With the 6 seated high-noon express chairlift, Turoa has become a favourite among the more advanced skiers and snowboarders. The 6 has opened up powder filled bowls and valleys either side of the main mountain trails, providing exhilarating skiing and boarding to get your edges stuck int
For the Advanced
With 25 black and black diamond runs and two spectacular lift-accessed backcountry areas you'll find a massive variety of terrain as an advanced skier/rider at Turoa. Enjoy the natural half-pipes and chutes through the Organ Pipes and the Solitude backcountry area or the amazing wide sweeping terrain of the Triangle and the Glacier backcountry area. If you're into steeps Hamilton's Face is for you and the budding big mountain skier will find an ever-changing range of natural terrain features to play on.
