Pureora Forest

The Pureora forest was one of the last native forests to be opened up for logging. Choose one of the walking and mountain biking tracks within the park and discover historic relics while enjoying the beautiful scenery.

There are many entry points to the Pureora Forest Park, with tracks of varying standards and lengths. The summit of Mount Pureora provides panoramic views of Lake Taupo, Tongariro National Park and Mount Taranaki. The forest is also home to NZ Cycle Trails star the Timber Trail. Places to stay include Taumarunui and National Park Village.
