Snow Play

family - kids playing in snow.jpg

Set in the middle of New Zealand's north island, snow capped Mount Ruapehu presents one of the best winter destinations in the world.

The ski areas utilise state of the art lift facilities, have buzzing cafes and present a welcoming smile from the warm winter staff. Build a snowman, have a snowball fight, or hire a toboggan and go whizzing down the dedicated family friendly sliding zones on Mount Ruapehu's ski areas.

For something a little different, take a sightseeing chairlift ride to the upper slopes and watch the skiers and snowboarders whizz by, all while taking in unimpeded, panoramic views of the North Island landscape. If that's not enough, you can take a stop at the top, wander around in the snow and pop into the on-mountain cafes to drink in a warming coffee or a steaming hot chocolate.

There are plenty of friendly hire outlets in the region, who will easily get you kitted out to experience the magic of snow play.
